Phase I of the Mahakaal Lok Project dedicated to the nation

PM Modi has inaugurated the phase-1 of Mahakal Lok corridor project meant to renovate the Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain.

The project aims to decongest the area, increase footfalls and improve public amenities by grandly renovating the temple zone by expanding it seven times to that of the present area.

The project includes building world-class modern amenities such as parks, multi-storied parking lots, shops, pilgrim facility centres, light and sound systems, water pipelines and sewer lines to name a few.

Phase 2 of the Mahakal Lok project will develop the northern and eastern sides of the temple including Begam Bagh Road, Maharajwada, Mahal Gate, Hari Phatak Bridge and Ramghat areas.

At present, some 1.5 crore people visit the temple per year. With the expansion, this number can easily go beyond double that. The entire project will cost around Rs 850 crore – 316 crore for phase 1 while the rest will go to phase 2.

Israel signs a historic maritime border pact with Lebanon

The agreement has been finally reached by the two countries after months of negotiations brokered by the US.

The peace deal will enhance Israel’s security and stability in the region apart from offering economic dividends like the inflow of billions of dollars into Israel’s economy.

Bankrupt Lebanon will gain economically from the deal as it will facilitate natural gas production and exploration in the Mediterranean.

Over 860 square kilometres of the Mediterranean Sea is claimed by both countries as their own so far.
Israel is technically still at war with its northern neighbour Lebanon ever since Israel’s creation in 1948. That means the country hasn’t signed any peace treaty ending the hostility legally.
