A total of 17,256 vacancies were released for direct recruitment by several departments of the Delhi Government. However, a requisition has been published by the hiring agencies Union Public Service Commission and Delhi Subordinates Services Selection Board for filling up 10,980 posts out of the vacant direct recruitment positions, according to the officials on August 16.

The departments will soon send the requisitions of the applications to the UPSC and DSSSB for filling the remaining 6,726 posts in A, B, and C group services. The vacancies in all the categories across various departments include 1518

(A), 8,902

(B), and 6836.

It is important to fill up the vacant posts for the proper functioning of the department and fulfilling public services efficiently.

After considering the open positions, Chief Secretary (Delhi) Naresh Kumar has ordered that all the departments with vacant direct recruitment seats must send the requisitions to the UPSC/DSSSB within three months for filling up the positions.

All the department heads will issue a certificate to the various service departments within three months that all the requisitions were sent to the employment agencies, according to the order published by the service departments.

However, if the posts remain vacant for two years or more then it would be considered as deemed abolished, whereas if the newly created seats remain vacant for three years or more then it would also be named as deemed abolished, they said.
After determining the requirements, the department will take action for the re-establishment of these posts by considering the proposals to the Administrative Reforms Department.
As per the issued order, the process to fill up these posts will be administered by these departments after the approval of the competent authority.
