4 PG Medical Seats removed from NEET PG Counselling 2022; know details

The competition to get the medical PG seat of your choice gets a little more difficult. As the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has removed four postgraduate medical seats from round one of NEET PG 2022 Counselling.

4 Seats removed from NEET PG Counselling 2022

In case you aren’t aware, the registration for admission into 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats through round 1 of NEET PG 2022 counselling is underway since 15 September 2022. And tomorrow, September 23, 2022, is the last day to register online.

Haven’t registered yet, Hurry up and visit the official website at mcc.nic.in to register for NEET PG Counselling 2022 before the process ends.

Provisional Seat Allotment will happen on September 26 while the final result will come out on September 28, 2022.

Now with 4 seats taken away, the competition for much-sought-after colleges will rise slightly.

Why the 4 seats have been removed

  • 2 seats each from Gandhi Medical College (Bhopal), and BJ Government Medical College (Ahmedabad) have been removed.
  • Gandhi Medical College (Bhopal) failed to get recognition from the MCC while the BJ Government Medical College (Ahmedabad) corrected the error wherein they had offered 2 seats more than they had for admission.

729 NRI Students found trying to avail Indian Quota

MCC has also relegated 729 students from India to NRI Quota as they fail to produce valid proof of citizenship. In light of this event, MCC has reiterated that the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), and foreign nationals will only be eligible for costlier NRI seats and not for relatively cheaper Indian (All India Quota/ Central/ Deemed Paid/ Indian) seats.

Even for admission in NEET PG NRI Quota seats, students will have to produce documents in original to prove they qualify as NRIs. The admission will be terminated in case any discrepancy is found during verification.
