Previously, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the State Disaster Management Authority scheduled a school holiday for Thursday, July 20 in Mumbai and many regions. The BMC had declared a holiday for all primary, secondary, and upper secondary institutions in Mumbai, from nursery to Class 12. The local government took action to safeguard the safety of children, instructors, and staff members. Meanwhile, Thane collector Ashok Shingare has requested residents to stay indoors due to the rains and has directed civic and district machinery to be well-prepared to assist citizens.
The Deputy Director of Education (Mumbai division), Sandeep Sangave, issued a formal directive to department officers, education inspectors, and key stakeholders, urging them to consider local situations when issuing holidays.
