Love knows no bounds but when it comes to marriage, many people turn to horoscope matching as a way to ensure compatibility and a harmonious union so that prospective bride and groom live peacefully.
Kundali Milan is the process of matching horoscopes of the prospective bride and groom to assess their compatibility, when they are planning to get married. It is done to ensure a harmonious and prosperous married life. To complete the process of Kundali-Milan, one requires the date, time and place of the birth of both the individuals. This is an age-old tradition to gain insights into the mysteries of compatibility.
While the practice is highly important and deeply rooted in tradition, it’s essential to know the right factors to match the horoscope. Astrologers often consider various steps to match the horoscope, under which various factors are viewed to match out the horoscope, but according to astrologers, these five steps are the most important one. Those five factors are:-
1.Preparation of birth chart – This is the foundational step in horoscope matching where an astrologer prepares the birth charts, also known as Kundali, for both the prospective bride and groom. These charts are based on the exact date, time, and place of their birth. The positions of celestial bodies at the time of birth are crucial in determining various astrological factors.
2.Ashtakoot Milan – The term Ashtakoot is made up from two words ‘ashta’ and ‘koota’, which refers to the eight aspects and the process of Ashtakoot Milan is a method of horoscope matching that is used in Vedic astrology to assess the compatibility of a prospective couple. It is based on the analysis of eight aspects or kootas of the birth charts of the bride and the groom. Each factor has assigned a specific point and the cumulative score is considered the final score to assess the compatibility. These eight kootas are Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi.
3.Scoring and Interpretation – Each of the eight factors is assigned a certain number of points, such as Varna has 1 point, Tara has 3 points, Bhakoot contains 7 points while Nadi contains 8 points. Considering the rules and process, couples are assigned scores based upon astrologer’s interpretation. The higher the total scores obtained, higher the compatibility. Maximum points availed can be 32 while couples need to score minimum 16 to match the compatibility.
4.Checking for Dosha – The term Dosha refers to the defect or flaw or imbalance that arises due to the unfavourable placement of celestial bodies in the 12 houses in one’s Kundali that tends to affect various aspects of life, such as health, wealth, career, marriage and many more. Many types of doshas can be found in a birth chart such as Manglik dosha, Bhakoot dosha, Nadi dosha, etc. but some of them are severe and need to be addressed immediately, otherwise will leave their negative and ill-impacts.
5.Recommendations – Based on the analysis of the horoscopes and the presence of doshas, astrologers may provide recommendations or remedies which can include specific rituals, prayers, or other measures to balance the astrological influences to mitigate the negative effects.
