Points to note about CBSE CTET Exam
Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level exam – conducted twice every year by the CBSE – to shortlist candidates eligible to teach in classes from 1 to 8. Those who qualify the exam – by achieving at least 60% marks – get certificates that make them eligible to apply for teachers’ vacancies in government and other schools.
Just to be clear, qualifying CTET does not guarantee jobs to the aspirants. They have to apply for recruitment at different schools based on the available vacancies. Without the CTET qualification certificate, you can’t even apply for these vacancies.
CTET Exam Pattern
CTET Exam has 2 papers: Paper I & Paper II
Paper I is taken by candidates who want to teach in classes from 1 to 5. Paper II is for candidates who aspire to become teachers for Classes 6 to 8. Those wanting the freedom to teach any class from 1 to 8, must take and pass both papers.
