Maharashtra Day 2022, which is also known as Maharashtra Din or Maharashtra Diwas, is a public holiday commemorating the formation of Maharashtra, a Marathi-speaking state, following the partition of the Bombay State on May 1, 1960. Every year, Maharashtra Day is observed on May 1st.
