The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) has announced the recruitment of 1420 Lady Constables, and eligible candidates can apply from April 23 onwards. The recruitment process will include a preliminary written exam, physical measurement test, physical efficiency test, final written examination, and an interview. The last date to submit the application is May 20, 2023.

West Bengal Police to Recruit 1420 Lady Constables

To apply for the position, candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 30 years old as of January 1, 2023. There is relaxation in the upper age limit for reserved category candidates. The date of birth as recorded in the Madhyamik or its equivalent admit card/certificate will only be accepted as valid proof for verification of age, according to the WBPRB.

In addition, applicants must have passed the Madhyamik examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent and be able to speak, read, and write the Bengali language. However, this requirement will not be applicable to persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts.

Candidates are also required to meet other eligibility conditions, such as physical standards, which are detailed in the official notification.

The recruitment of Lady Constables is a significant step towards the empowerment of women in law enforcement. It is also an opportunity for eligible candidates to pursue a career in law enforcement and serve their community.

The recruitment process will begin with a preliminary written exam or screening test, followed by a physical measurement test (PMT), physical efficiency test (PET), final written examination, and an interview. The date and venue for the exams will be announced later by the WBPRB.

Interested candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of the WBPRB. The application fee is Rs. 170, and it can be paid through an online or offline mode. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST categories of West Bengal and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) are exempted from paying the fee.
