“Yesterday, maximum temperatures were in the range of 38-40°C over most parts of East Uttar Pradesh; at many places over Rayalaseema and Madhya Maharashtra; at a few places over Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Gujarat State, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal.These were below normal by 2-4 °C over Central and adjoining east & north peninsular India and normal over rest parts of the country,” the India Meteorological Department has said.
